“Unproven”, “can’t judge” Flop implies that they played and didn’t perform. How can you judge someone based on a factor that isn’t their fault/to do with their footballing abilities?
avatar
Boy oh boy where do I start. Going to ignore all the Liverpool players and educate you on the rest so you know it’s unbiased -Timber did his acl and played a grand total of 71 minutes. Flop is outrageous, especially considering arsenal fans rate him so highly. I’m presuming this is rage bait to rumble some arsenal fans -Caicedo had a slow start but picked up the second half and has actually been very solid -Nkunku, also injured. Hard to call him a flop when he hasn’t played. And when he has, he’s played well -Lavia, 33 minutes… -Amrabat in inconsistent is VILE. He has been awful all season. Maybe 1 or 2 good games but for the most part, awful. -onana didn’t have the greatest of starts but if you actually watched some football, you know he’s considerably picked up form in the second half of the season. Solid is far more fair, especially considering the next player I’m going to mention… -Gvardiol solid? He had a “solid” end to the season but for the first 30 games of the season, people were calling him flop of the season. He was very poor up until recently -Doku has not been a great signing. He’s a fantastic dribbler, that is true, but provides nothing else other than dribbling. Solid is the fairest category

Come to think of it he actually would be pretty decent in slots double pivot with alexis. Im all for it however i dont see it, only way we get him is by paying that 100mil release clause....
avatar
Not Sky. Sky are reporting some nonsense from the Mirror. Edwards tried to sell him years ago to replace Henderson. Lazy link.
avatar
Referees are horrible, and Vini is genuinely unbearable.
avatar
Bvb player gets booked for decent few moments later vini does the same thing no card...
avatar
Bro, Divingnicius is the only way they can win by yellow cards, are they scared?
avatar
That blatant dive in the var era and the bvb players still gets a yellow instead of a second yellow for vini

adeyemi bottled that ngl

Adeyemi and nunez here would probably be a death sentence for me. For the love of god keep him away

Goodluck brothers, if anything we made it here!!

Very dumb move by Van den Berg taking that interview. He wasn't trusted back then because he's not good enough, that's the whole point of him being loan out, so he can improve Should have just waited and seen what would happen under Slot first. But with that interview, he might not even be in the pre season squad. And the club won't sell him cheap either
avatar
Greenwood hasn't redeemed himself. He hasn't publicly admitted and apologised for his actions, he paid off the victim's family to drop the charges, he never actually got proven in the court of law as innocent. Her going back to him and even having a child together means nothing, she's probably in the relationship purely for the money, its fucked up altogether.
avatar
Not a hope in hell Liverpool will sign Olise. Talented player but way too expensive for how Edwards & Co tend to operate (just get used to how it was 3-4 years ago), he's not that player like Van Dijk or Alisson that takes you to the next level. Crystal Palace will want £70m+ for him and the only teams that'll pay that amount of money for him would be United (Ratcliffe's pet project along with Branthwaite) or Chelsea. Also just as an aside, if Olise is over performing statistically now then you absolutely need to look at his numbers long term and how they breakdown season by season because typically over performance is unsustainable and can't be scaled upwards, whereas underperforming can be scaled upwards and improved upon, which is why Liverpool don't tend to sign attacking players that are over performing, different story for defenders/goalkeepers. There's other issues as well in terms of style and system structure between what Glasner does at Palace and what Slot will do at Liverpool that'll influence how effective a player like Olise is in each system and formation. Glasner puts little to no emphasis on Olise to defend, whereas we know that Slot will want his team to press, it's a small difference but it changes the types of opportunities that become available to each team/player which shows up in the data. Just don't be lulled into placing Olise on a pedestal.
avatar
I love him to bits, he is incredibly talented, one of the best players against Real three years ago already. But he is too injury prone and does not even fit us stylistically. 55 sounds kind of cheap to me but I'd, with a heavy heart, be willing to sell him too tbh But if he stays, I'll be happy too. He still can prove a lot, yeah he is not probably gonna be pinging balls 60 metres right into winger's feet, but he can develop as well. There were times he was already more than good enough to be a starter

Kelleher is as good as gone this summer. Feels like he's done his time as a No.2 and is ready to be a No.1. Wish him well wherever he ends up. https://x.com/reptracker/status/1795795389456552234?t=W6Bpb9sWYL19OTuR-_zKzQ&s=19

https://x.com/OnsOranje/status/1795809253485359529 i know who im rooting for these Euros, good balanced squad used to think their midfield was a massive weakness but they're looking good there now. An attack of gakpo-depay-simons sounds great as well. Hopefully Koeman can get the best out of them i think the national team is perfect for him. Maatsen and wieffer not going is bs though i have to say.
avatar
SIUUUUUU, we’re not selling him for pennies at least 😭😭🙏🙏 https://x.com/jamespearcelfc/status/1795401769150808105?s=46&t=aXhMh5rjASDK7esNe7FFLg

Great news.
avatar
If he's sold I'd say if we get between £15-20m for him we'll have done really well tbh, I think he'll get an opportunity in preseason though. I guess a few people owe Big Jorg Schmadtke an apology.

If Klopp were to be asked this he'd answer: "Another defensive midfielder? We have Wataru [Endo] who has been brilliant...absolutely brilliant and settled in so, so quickly. Then it's Stefan [Bajcetic] who was for so long on the sidelines and is hungrier than ever to play and help the team. Tyler [Morton] had a successful spell at Hull and will join the team at the end of his loan. So, now you tell me, where do we need another defensive midfielder? You just want this exclusiveness, but we do things in another way, we cannot go and just say 'Oh, we want this, we want that', it's just not how we do business".
avatar
Doesn't help when Pep Guardiola strips all personality and likeability from players either imho, for example Jack Grealish should be inventive and creative like he was at Villa but now he's a husk of his former self terrified of misplacing a pass or losing the ball, Haaland was a better player at Dortmund than he is at City. It's a soulless team and club and it's no wonder why so many local people and others abroad fail to connect with the team.

Gerrard was well clear of Scholes mate. Mainoo will never reach that level
avatar
Saying that shows you know absolutely nothing about him. He's playing regular first team football with the team his Grandfather, Granduncle and Father have played for, a team he supports and a team he loves. Archie Gray has said that he wants to stay at Leeds United, he wants to see his younger brother, Harry Gray, break through and play in the first team with him. He's never ever expressed any desire to play anywhere else even when he has been asked directly about his future, so yeah I'd be fairly confident in saying that he's staying at Leeds. Why do you think he'd move to Liverpool?

I hate how good this Mainoo kid is…

If McKenna has any intelligence whatsoever he'd avoid both Man United and Chelsea, better off sticking with Ipswich or going to Brighton.

Lucas Paquetá charged with spot-fixing over four ‘deliberate’ bookings. A single breach if proven carries ban of between 6 months and lifetime. Judging by some of the clips he'll be lucky to play again.

With no CL to his name while managing a PL side, nobody can claim Arsene makes it into the top cut alongside SAF, Guardiola and Klopp. For me he sits in his own awkward tier just below the cream of the crop - Mourinho's in the same group for me. 3 PLs in 22 years without a corrupt juggernaut like City around is poor given Arsenal could very realistically have obtained 8 or 9. Liverpool would have had 3 in 9 years including 4 years of transitionary/rebuild seasons from mid-table, were it not for those cheating fucks. In fairness, both Klopp and Wenger suffered from the owners of their clubs being prudent fucks in the transfer market compared to their rivals. Klopp literally had his Liverpool side finish with a higher points tally than Wenger's best ever season in 4 different seasons. Klopp brought about concussion subs, 5 subs rather than 3, and spearheaded the tactical *necessity* for *all* teams in modern football to press. Wenger wasn't the first to bring in fitness and dietary monitoring/standards - this was first done by Newcastle and Blackburn - heck Fergie was doing it by 1995 before Wenger even came to Arsenal. The only thing he was first at was stopping his players eating chips during the season (and it's not something that's stuck around either, as players carb-load with potatos etc the night before games these days). Klopp genuinely changed the game for the better in terms of player welfare and influenced tactics globally, let alone in the PL.
avatar
Yeah, our players get downgraded after small dips in form but rarely get upgraded when they deserve it. Like Gakpo had a few bad games, got a downgrade but hasn’t had an upgrade now he’s back in form? Van Dijk no upgrade all season and Elliott still 77 is crazy. At least Bradley and Quansah have had decent upgrades this year but the rest of the team hardly get the rating they deserve

Not that interesting imho it's solved by selling most of what they have out on loan tbf. Harrison alone has a £20m clause if Everton stay up, Sinisterra already sold for £20m. Real Betis have an option on Roca, Roma have an option on Kristensen and an obligation on Llorente if he plays enough games. There's a couple of suitors for Aaronson as well. Realistically they'll only need to sell Summerville.
avatar
Yup - also this just creates more unemployment and will give more of the lower leagues our shitty refs The solution is to remove as much of the incompetent elements of VAR as possible through semi-automated offsides and a far more black and white, simplified rulebook on what's what. Change some personnel and also investigate referees for their allegiances/supporting clubs and ensure they never officiate a game of said club or their closest rival. It will never be perfect, but doing this will make it as close as it's going to get.

https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1790783046213410977?t=ewF7TMWWaX0oGl472fUKPw&s=19 i feel like this isn't the correct solution either. Problem isnt var its the incompetent referees.
avatar
They´re a young side, I can only see them get better. Especially if they get Gyokeres
avatar
As much as I hate Arsenal and wish for their demise, they're CB pairing is young and tactically astute. Their forwards are youthful and bring energy plus they have goals coming from their midfield. The only way that team fails is through poor management and recruiting. If they make the same mistake FSG did, by not building on the foundations of a successful season (2018-19) then those building blocks start to crumble.
avatar
Before the start of the season, I'd give it an 8/10. Now it feels more like a 6. Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. We should not underestimate how many changes were made, how many injuries we suffered from, the fact that Jurgen and the whole management are leaving, and, yeah, a good few games where the referees were just horrible. What makes the mark worse is mainly that I absolutely despise some of the performances. Sorry to be the negative one again, but what we played had nothing to do with football I expect from Liverpool at times. Not that I expect to win the league every year, but I do expect to play one of the most entertaining footballs. In so many moments, we were just incredibly dull, even from our star players or very expensive players. I hope that changes soon.
avatar
Matos really was an unsung hero of the Klopp era, it's his elite development plan that gave us Quansah, Bradley, Beck, Clark and McConnell this season alone.
