Klopp turning into batman? https://x.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1791400386231759038

Slot just confirmed in an interview that he will be the new head coach. Super excited for this. As sad as it is to see Jurgen go, I’m happy we’ve found a manager that is enthusiastic about joining the club.

There is a theme to some of the talk from outside the club that Klopp should have won more, in the scheme of everything he's done he will be known even more fondly in time. He's built great foundations and reinvigorated the club, given us a taste that was only a dream beforehand. Had Poch won the CL and PL with Spurs and was only leaving them now, there would be people queuing up to say: "Sure they weren't successful in winning biggest prizes before he arrived, but look at the times he failed."

Been wanting to write an essay on Klopp and this beautiful team for the last days, haven't been in the mood to do so, both because of the club and my personal life, but here I am. What a story this has been under Jurgen Klopp. When he arrived I wasn't even in the high school, so during these 9 years he meant a big part of my adolescence and has been a (virtual) ever present figure in my life (and for most of us as well I suppose). We were in trenches, finishing below Southampton in the league and exiting the group stages in UCL a season before. He came in and on the same day we started to believe we could regain our long gone glory, blindly embarking on this journey. Step by step, game by game, things became more clear we were in the right direction, although results (silverware) didn't arrive at that time. Not once, not twice, but many times (thinking about the Carabao final, UEL final, both in his first season, but also the UCL final in 2018) we had been close and thought there was a hill we could just not get over. Probably in any other club he would've been sacked after Kiev, but the board stood by him, awarded him an extension and moved on to achieve greater things. The clip with him singing with the fans about Madrid right after the final epitomizes him as a person, football and sports in general. A game that in the end has a winner and you just know there is another chance the next year and the next one and so on. Hard work eventually paid off, we got our hands on the UCL, the Super Cup, the CWC, the Premier League. Glory was achieved and his promise of delivering a title in 4 years has been kept, a man of his words. Although the next four years haven't been quite as successful as the previous ones (very alternating form, a bad year, a good year), we managed to complete the set and win the remaining trophies that he was missing. That quadruple-chasing season will forever be etched in by memory and my heart. Going all the way to the final day after we've been behind, all those performances, the NFT midfield, Salah-Mane-Diaz, the UCL nights, just to get our hearts shattered with 15 mins to go in the Prem and by an exceptional performance from Courtois. Life isn't always fair when you think we had a goalie that cost us the UCL in 2018 only to be defeated by the opposition counterpart's performance 4 years later. But once again we moved on and although the following season was below the standards, Klopp, just like Ferguson in 2012, refused to leave us in an unfavorable position. Been tough for him, Premier League is a very demanding league for both the players but also the managers. You rarely see someone staying for so long, and this obviously took its toll on his health (both physically and mentally). He deserves a very long break from this to recover. What will be hard to recover from is not being able to see him anymore on the touchline, in pressers, in training, not being able to see him manage the trio of Salah-Firmino-Mane, the hard-working Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, the super sub Origi, the overlapping fullbacks Trent and Robertson, the leaders of the defense Fabinho, Konate, Matip, Van Dijk, Alisson or the skillful players like Lallana, Coutinho, Thiago, Sturridge, Diaz, Elliott. Farewell, Jürgen Norbert Klopp. Been a pleasure to see you manage the club I love. I will not cry because it's over (I will), I will smile because it happened (I will). Looking forward to the future and may the next stage under the new manager be just as beautiful. The story is not over, we just move to the next chapter. You'll never walk alone.

Some may have misunderstood my comment earlier. It’s not my «birthday», It’s the Norwegian national day. I am not 17 years old, I’m qyite drunk though. Long live the Norwegian oil money raaaaaaah🦅🦅🦅

i'm partial to Vardy's Four Words or Balotelli's Three Words

Farewell Thiago post: Was so excited when the rumours first started of us signing him, then as they picked up steam and it finally happened it was the most excited I'd been about signing since Torres. We'd just won the league and like a club our size in such a strong position ought to do, we went out and signed not just a world class player but at the time only just behind Kroos, Modric and De Bruyne on the midfield world stage. A proper elite player. It's a real shame how things panned out and we did get a really good season out of him in the 21/22 season but man...things could have been so different. I still haven't forgiven Richarlison for that tackle on him in the Merseyside Derby that put him out for months before his Liverpool career ever really got started. No matter what you say about his fitness issues no one can question his commitment. A lot of players are happy to be spend most of their career in the treatment room picking up millions doing so (look at Martial at United) but no one can put that at Thiago's door. When I saw him get injured in the warm up before the league cup final (the lesser of all the trophies we were chasing) and cry like he'd just lost a loved one, I knew what it meant to him. To cap it off his foundation has done a lot of work in the city. A great human being more than anything. I wish him and his family all the best. He's played for and won things with Barca, Bayern and Liverpool. Few players can make that boast.
avatar
Big Jimmy Milner extending his contract. Man really is going to keep going until the legal pensionable age.
avatar
He's been 'stat-padding' against the best teams in Europe since 2017 mate, why don't you pop off somewhere else instead petal
avatar
Wouldn't effect our budget. Only our ability to get players from markets we don't currently have access to.
avatar
This was the last time I listened.
avatar
Where does the notion of Barcelona having £75 million come from?
avatar
If Diaz really wants to move to Barcelona and they offer us the right price (at least 75m), he's free to go. Becoming annoying now how they deal with this saga
avatar
I have high hopes for Morton, and giving him a chance could save us a lot of money in the future. I’m just unsure whether we could do with the extra experience in midfield.

I did hear on the grape vine that it is Edwards and Ward who are obsessed with making sure that the whole team are made of extreme athletes not Klopp, which would increase the chance of Thuram being signed
avatar
I doubt we’ll sign Wieffer, tbh. I think Thuram would be a great signing for the reported fee.
avatar
Agreed. Slot wants midfielders who are comfortable in buildup, and can progress play. Thuram is quite similar to Gravenberch in many ways. Seems like one of those low risk moves Edwards likes.

https://x.com/DeadlineDayLive/status/1790321047150997981 If this is true, it might be worth a gamble. 🤔
avatar
Block him, he's that weirdo who mass reports a bunch of us, suspiciously a lot of us English users too
avatar
Ah OK nice one, makes sense, just looked on here and they've downvoted loads of my comments haha
avatar
Sorry, who tf are you?
avatar
Was it? Did you expect to be challenging for the title this season at the start of it? Or is this just another standard reactionary post with a hint of "yessssss I can slander a player randomly that I'd hated on for aaaaages"?
avatar
Spoilt brats, simple as They have no idea how lucky they are to be living through the Jurgen era.

🤣🤣🤣 Sums you up to a tee

Let’s just win on Sunday and give Klopp a decent farewell!

Great stats for a washed player
avatar
Then sling him a towel (as in Saudi takes him for £120m)
avatar
Nice to see Gakpo playing well, hopefully he'll take this into next season & kick on
avatar
Ah ok fair enough then

Progress? We're getting a new manager after the game after this mate, this game isn't about progress, it's about seeing out the season and trying to enjoy what's left of Jurgen Klopp at this point. You're right, the pure negativity that you and the others are spouting is pointless, it may help you for some weird reason, but it just reminds me of the old fellas in the pub whinging away. Brings me down, genuinely don't know why I look at this page at times.
avatar
Tell em Mike, better vibes at my nans funeral!
avatar
Winning 1-2 away from home against Villa and again, all I see is negativity on here, literally, that's it, no positivity at all. Absolute toxic cesspit here

Cracking header that

Get in Is celebrating goals here alright?

Gakpo is going to explode under Slot. I just know it…

Until 5' when Watkins inevitably scores after McGinn bypassed our midfield

They're absolutely fucking goosed from the levels they've achieved this season. Emery is manager of the season for what he's turned them in to, but they need their summer holidays ASAP now 😂

Prefer this one ngl. https://s3a.sofifa.net/25f38ca1730134f143a20fc02d1a8f262bfbdf28.jpg

I heard about SA allegations regarding Facundo Medina.
avatar
So you're telling me it isnt true? Thank the lord! Anyway everyone here knows im a massive fan of yoro, if you told me sign any cb price no problem id go straight for him, imagine a future duo of yoro-quansah. Title winning that. Honestly id take todibo too, medina nah not good enough imo.
avatar
Nonsense rumour apparently this guy is a known waffler. Plus that release clause is probably not even active for this summer. Genuinely is there a world where Edwards would agree with us paying 85mil for a guy with 7 goals....
avatar
I can’t believe it: My boyhood team,Mainz 05 beat Dortmund 3:0 today. Sepp van den berg with a phenomenal performance. Again. I love this team ❤️😀
avatar
Nope i Hope Luton stay up
avatar
Glad the club still have faith in the lad
avatar
No, Perez is not foolish enough to strengthen a European rival with that caliber of player. Perhaps in a few years due to Madrid having too many options, but not now.
avatar
Im sure Liverpool had a 90m deal lined up for gvardiol😭😭😭. What a joke this guy is absolute waffler.
