Salah was already an amazing player at Roma and KDB was Bundesliga MVP at Wolfsburg playing with a mediocre team. Vinicius, Odegaard, Sala were simply VERY young (whereas Leao is already 25....).

I will never get over how much gasperini hates inter 🥹 https://twitter.com/Inter_Xtra/status/1797347157474673120?t=R2EZx737LXcO5guY3jsszw&s=19

Acerbi ahead of Buongiorno 😭
avatar
Perfect Kessie replacement for Milan imo. He’s not wc but he’s very strong and good in the midfield duels
avatar
I disagree. Pioli was mediocre, but proven Serie A coach. He got us to CL and won the Scudetto - which is insane considering his coaching career. Fonseca has been to Serie A and failed. I recall that I wasn’t optimistic about Pioli when he got the job either. So basicly, it sucks to be a fan when you dont believe in your teams manager.
avatar
Calling up Maguire, Dunk, Konsa, Guehi and Quansah over Tomori in 2024 is fucking criminal
avatar
Prem bias. It's like England has completely forgotten he even exists. Unless you're Harry Kane or Jude Bellingham then it's impossible to get a look in with England when you're playing outside of the Premier League. Guarantee if he moves back to an English team he'd be an obvious starter within a year.
avatar
I don't think he's allowed to switch because of age rules but at this point he needs to at least try. I don't care if it's Nigeria and not Canada, he's too good to be left out of competition after competition just because of England's incompetence.
avatar
That's very harsh. Won the league, finished 2nd twice, UCL semi final, got top 4 the last 4 seasons. He need to go now, but his reign is not that bad
avatar
Don't get me wrong, Pioli need to go. But he's still Milan best manager the last 14 years, he deserves more respect and a nice send off this weekend. Saw some people called him a fraud, awful manager and stuff
avatar
At the beginning of the season I said to all of my friends "we're not going to compete for the scudetto because our team changed too much this Summer" so I reckon we had a good run in serie A. It Is normal that we struggled in the CL group as well for the same reasons but what made Pioli's time in Milan expire was the EL losses against Roma. We're at the end of the season so the first excuse doesn't stand and also we're way Better than them. If we didn't lose those games I would've seen some resemblances with Spalletti's 2021/22 Napoli when they arrived third just before dominating the next serie A. We do have good basis since we have talented players and we play a decent attacking football. We only lack a few players and obviously more solidity in defense. Anyway Forza Milan sempre
avatar
On my knees praying for Motta bc everyone else we've been linked with concretely is literally a downgrade to Pioli. And how tf is Emerson the RB we're linked with??? Wtf sort of downgrade is this
avatar
Unpopular opinion, but if/when Pioli is replaced, we're gonna have some serious teething pains. I'm gonna say it here because some of you (us) need to realize that after he took over from Giampaolo we've been top 4 ever since after YEARS of absolute f*ckery bestowed upon us by bad business decisions that predated even Elliot Management. as a fan with a tenure of 15+ years, personally that warrants at least some gratitude. It can't be easy as the head of the Management STAFF, separate and apart, AND in addition to the team of actual footballers. Have to give the old baldie some credit man. at the end of the day, as a fan (from Jamaica, but a lifelong, unwavering ROSSONERI TIL I FUCKING DIE), all we have is bragging rights from what is ultimately for our entertainment. For the Italians I understand it is way, way deeper than that but believe me when I say the San Siro is HOME.
avatar
After Brahim said this the whole room stood up and clapped and Ancelotti tore up his suit to reveal an inter shirt. It's true bro trust me i was there when he said it.
avatar
when was the last time we've had a right winger that scored more than 7 goals in the league thank the lord for pulisic
avatar
We have a very reactionary fan base that turns on the players everytime something goes wrong, so everything; esp from the bird app, should be taken with a kilo of salt
avatar
I think he'd surprise most people if he joined Milan. His tactical knowledge is pretty good, and he likes to play a very agressive and offensive football given the right players. He rly likes having a strong high pressing team, but given strong opponents he will have more cautious approach to games, adapting the team to different styles of play, which I can say it has done wonders at Porto as we've had amazing records when it comes to big matches in the ucl and against rivals. His biggest downside tho is the overall managing of players, but i cannot talk on this fully due to it being also fault of our board. What will happen is that at the beggining of the season we will lose important players and not hiring proper replacements, it makes it so we usually underperform a lot at the beggining of the season until he finally adapts the team's playstyle. But overall, we've experienced a lot of times, important players leaving for low prices or even free, and then not getting proper replacements.
avatar
They fired Maldini and Massara because they had different visions on how the club should be ran, the summer market or Pioli are just pretexts.I doubt Pioli had a strong voice on what players he wanted, he just worked with the names suggested by the management.
avatar
"with the ambition of winning because it adds prestige and not because it provides us with earnings" This is exactly why I think Zhang has done a great job at Inter. We have had the right ambition. The financial constraints are there, obviously, but he has not lost sight that we have a prestigious club here that should be competing to win trophies and play the Champions league final. We could have gone the Milan route, which is to prioritize the bottom line in everything they do. But we didn't. Zhang went and got Conte knowing he would have to spend a lot more even though the status quo was very good, Spalletti had built a competitive team on a relatively low budget, but Zhang still did it to the point of those debts causing us a lot of trouble. We got Eriksen for a fee that not even the rich clubs wanted to pay. But ok, that was during better times. The thing is, even in the recent years we have prioritized the ambition and dignity of the club, by signing players like Mkhitaryan, whose career speaks for himself. Paying those high wages to players like Dzeko and even Hakan who priced out Milan. We pushed to get Gosens because of ambition, when there may have been wiser choices financially. We have pushed beyond our financial capacity with free agents like Onana and Thuram, who could have easily gone to better and richer clubs, but we pushed just enough financially to make it worth it for them. And of course we have kept our Italian core by making this the place to be if you want to be a big Italian player. We have done this with sacrifices of big players, but incredibly we have maintained our ambition. When we sign players, the animating question, despite our struggles, is usually not "Will this be a good investment?" but "Will this player help us win trophies?" That was the question that was asked when we signed Arnautovic, one of the most comically expensive deals we have ever made.
avatar
😂😂😂 But.. but.. they're the best Italian tema
avatar
With all due respect (and I mean that genuinely because I have no reason to antagonize you), would you not argue that your point on Juventus's scudetti being not as valued is a bit exaggerated? I remember one of your old points about Liverpool being a bigger team than Milan is their continuity and consistency in winning titles, but they also won when their rivals were not doing too well. Is it not a bit hypocritical to argue in favor of Liverpool, but against Juventus, for similar reasons? Surely, the consistency has to account for somethign right?
avatar
if i was making allegations about him and anyone else i would be raiding this comment section about it if i was so sure and had concrete proof on it, the only thing i have said about him was that he was known to be an inter fan lol, i’m not showing up with banners that the guy was a fraud and a cheater in his line of work… i say again that was just a “speculation” and a theory born from quite a lot of coincidences :) i just said that inter got away with what the other clubs did not , you don’t have to throw sht on me every reply my guy… i don’t care about your opinions likes or dislikes either, to each their own that is, i just wanted to throw out what i had known + read about the situation not being an italian myself you do not have to get so defensive about a guy who is so well-respected and known against one that has no knowledge of him and disrespect me on a fifa page continuously 💀
avatar
lmao, why should i know his achievements? i’m also a law student but im not italian so i just mentioned him like that, no need to get heated as much as you and call me a “midget”. you do not know me personally just as i hadn’t heard of the guy :D i also stated it was just a theory there was no need for disrespect, i just responded with my knowledge about the situation, if you couldn’t have cared less you wouldn’t have made half your post about me mentioning your grandioso as just a guy, lmfao i only said that he was known to be an inter fan during a period of him being an executive where inter were somehow unscathed.
avatar
pirelli and tim had the same executive tronchetti, + during the police investigation of the italian football federation a guy called guido rossi became the head who is literally known for being an inter milan fan. he decided the punishments , all just a “theory” still but very interesting that pirelli, inter, tim and even gazetta seemed to be very coincidentally close… inter had their faults like milan and juve, but were gone unpunished and gifted their first scudetto since 89 and then signing juve’s best players, these are not bullshits that are invented… known facts and interviews given by even christian vieri about his wages being partly paid by tim and them not leaking inter’s calls but others by former ref designators.
avatar
Bro we have triple amount of titles you have.. there's literally no need to flex our titles 7 times runner up 2 times champion is definitely better than 3 times champion
avatar
Lol we're the fifth best team in champions league in stats.. you're not even in top 10 😆😃
avatar
Well you have to get doubles (scudetto and coppa) for 20 straight years to reach us... Then we can talk like we're equal

I agree with you for the first 2 points. Inter wasted a lot of time and opportunities in summer (Samarzdic, Scamacca, Balogun..etc). We failed to sign a proper striker and we paid for it by being knocked out in UCL. Can't believe we signed a player whom we had to pay for to release (Alex)!!!! its a scandal. However our signs for defense are better and they proved it. Milan's transfers were better because they are young and they are what Pioli asked for. Inter failed to match all what Inzaghi asked for. We had a great season for 3 main reasons: 1- Inzaghi tactics and dressing room atmosphere. 2- Napoli, Juve, Milan all provided no competition! 3- Moratta exceptional talent and PATIENCE with those chinese bastards. As of our board they SUCK. Inter failed to sign proper sponsorships (digitalbits scandal). They lost Skriniar for free. Also they failed to invest in some key areas in the team. For example we MUST sign either a CDM or CM who is a STAR. but we signed Fratessi -who is a good player-. Makhi can't compete in UCL! Next year I hope we build on our success. Inter is doing way better than we should, and thats because of Moratta, Inzaghi and the players. I just want to add Milan's board is also bad. Yes they are better in commerce and buying players. but lets not forget how many players you lost for free. Also while Pioli is a good coach, you should have known that you need an upgrade.
avatar
I don’t understand all the catastrophism. We are still second in the league, and the derby itself didn’t matter because we already knew Inter was going to win the Serie A. The club is financially healthy, sales have been growing in foreign markets, and we have a strong base of players like Pulisic, RLC and Musah thanks to the great work done by the management last summer. All we need is a new coach that has a good record of developing talent, 3-4 new players to engage the fanbase which can be financed by selling one of Theo, Maignan and Leao. And we’ll be in great shape for next season.

We can sell leao with pleasure in the summer
avatar
The lad's barely 22 and needed time to settle, he proved his talent multiple times in the past.
avatar
For all the haters, where are you now huh? This guy is miles ahead of the likes of Araujo, Saliba etc... You can downvote but I know what I'm talking about... Btw he's younger than all of 'em
avatar
City fans have always respected him. We acknowledged that any poor form is because he was out of position and in a new system. It was just frustrating at times that we didn't have a pure left back so that Josko could play CB, so we had to deal with Josko's growing pains. Looks very comfortable now and seems to have earned Peps trust. Ahead of Ake for me now in the lineup.
avatar
Pasalic is one of the most underrated midfielders in the league, though I feel like he's a moody player. I think he'd be a good addition nonetheless, whether that happens is another question.
avatar
He 100% deserves it
avatar
Messias & Saelemaekers combined in 2022/2023: 7 goals and 5 assists Pulisic in 2023/2024: 10 goals and 6 assists Talk about upgrades
avatar
Thank you Chelsea. Boy saved himself from ruining his career there. Happy to see him and Loftus Cheek balling at Milan.
avatar
I dont think Pioli has a distinctive way he likes to play, he just uses what fits with our best players.Zirkzee offers more than goals. We have enough players who can be attacking threats, we dont need a pure goalscorer imo.Our offense is good enough as it is, it's our defense and overall structure that needs improving. We go long partially cause we get stuck building from the back and partially cause Giroud is not mobile enough to help in the build-up.Zirkzee would help with the latter
avatar
If Zirkzee came i imagine Pioli would let him play however he wanted. He already knows the league well enough and he'd have more quality players to link up with than he has at Bologna so i dont see him having problems fitting in.Imo he'd be a huge improvement for us once he's settled in cause he'd allow us to transition from the wingplay and cross that we play now to more fluid football.
avatar
He should have been an 80 last year and now a downgrade to 78 would have been justified.

True FACTOS from the goat user
avatar
High pressing forward line, left-sided players bombing upfield, Giroud with the hold-up play, lots of height on set pieces, a sneaky goalkeeper who can setup offensive play...what do you mean no style? I'm not going to argue and say it's the best / most attractive / most efficient in Europe, but it is getting results now that we have a team who are 1) accustomed to one another and 2) not injured. Why are we living in a hypothetical world where Napoli AND Roma AND Lazio all improve their squads AND improve coaching to imagine Milan finishes 5th? Could just as easily say Inter loose consistency / rack up injuries and beep bop boop Milan are in 1st...🤷‍♂️ Pioli stopped players from improving? On what planet is this true 😅 This squad (of the last couple of years) has grown the most of any Milan roster of the past 15 years easy, likely more (back when we were getting players who were a bit 'long in the tooth' 😅). Are there others waiting in wings that we'd all love to see get more minutes? Of course. But there has to be some pragmatism...again not every high potential youngster is gonna turn into a world beater or even a squad player. And if those youngsters didn't immediately produce and we dropped points, Pioli woulda been sacrificed at the alter. Under Pioi, Milan have: --Gone on their longest unbeaten run in ~30 years --Won their first 4 games of a Serie A season for the first time in ~25 years --Become only the second side in Europe's top 5 to score 2/+ goals/game in 15 consecutive games --Won by a 7-goal margin for the first time in ~70 years --Set a Serie A record for away wins (16) Lets come back to reality and realize how well positioned we are now compared to just a handful of years ago.
avatar
Nah bro, you're way too negative.
avatar
"Stefano Pioli's side extended their winning streak to seven matches across all competitions, which is their longest run since they won nine in a row under Carlo Ancelotti in 2006." I'm not strongly for or against Pioli, but I think a lot of the criticism against him is wildly unfair. Milan is doing *incredibly* well considering the number of injuries we've had and the amount of money invested in new players compared to other top leagues/teams (the lack of which is impacting injuries as well). There simply isn't a coach in the world who'd have THIS Milan on top of Inter or making deep CL runs. We've invested SO much in recent years in scouting, youth development, marketing and partnerships to strengthen business operations. We are finally looking like a respectable football club and business (minus the relatively new investigations into ownership transition). If we finish top 4 by season's end: Leave Pioli as is.
avatar
Chukwueze Is cooking right now, that’s the version of him I’ve been waiting for. Pioli needs to let him cook
avatar
I agree with the part about Thiaw being given time to develop but if we're to win the scudetto next season and make the last 8 of CL with more games added we need a CB that can start and and be consistent as well adding competition in the backline. We can't walk into 24/25, with Kjaer and Gabbia as the competition.
avatar
Tomori miles ahead of thiaw
avatar
23/24 Thiaw is putting your entire argument to the sword, from the Juve game to the Monza game; he's lacked composure in the key moments which 80% of being a CB leave the physical and technical talents.
avatar
I'm back bitches.

If you wanna raise the level of both starters and depth you can't do it in one season, that's it. For the individual results the new ones got and at their prices it's a great market. It was obvious at least 2 seasons were needed to have a full team A physical mid was as much of a priority as 2 quality RWs, a starting and a backup ST, at least 2 quality CMs after Tonali's sale, a backup LW and a backup fullback, all of those were weak points, we addressed most of them and left the others for next season. The bad defensive numbers are influenced by the way too many injuries we've had at the back and the weird defensive tactics we've all watched in the last 2 years, we would've been way better otherwise even without a physical monster in midfield
avatar
You said it perfectly with the last line: "we need to fill several roles in the next mercato". We needed the next season's one anyway, we couldn't fill all of them all at once so for now i'll consider this years' a great mercato as they proved we don't need to focus on those roles for next season, but we can focus on completing the team instead. Same complaints would've happened anyway if we got a DM or a CB (who wasn't needed without all the injuries at the same time) instead of any of the ones we got, who proved to be either way better depth than what we had before or actual starting material
avatar
We're not Man City or Chelsea, we won't and we should not spend 50M on a 19yo kid from the Eredivisie.Have we not learned anything from the CDK deal?Besides, most people who have watched him think he is nothing more than a pace merchant who leaves to be desired when it comes to decision making.Do we really need another winger with bad decision making?Lang has serious attitude problems and i wouldnt want him anywhere near the club and Lukebakio is not better than Chuk.Only Kang In Lee would have been a good alternative but we would have faced competition from PSG and idk how comfortable he is playing RW since i see he is usually deployed in the centre. Thuram is a great player but there have always been doubts about how he'd fit in our system considering he is not a pure 9 because of his inconsistent finishing. For these reasons he is not worth a salary as big as Leao's.Taremi is not such a big loss when you look at his age and current form.Anyways, we're linked with Zirkzee now and i prefer him to any of the other strikers mentioned. All things considered, saying this mercato was a complete failure is an exaggeration and calling Moncada an amateur is just delusional. The only thing that could've been handled differently is the midfield situation, the money spent on RLC would have probably been better spent on a CDM.Even then, we would have had to play Musah as a starter until Bennacer came back, which wouldn't be ideal.Overall, it was hard to solve all our problems in one window and all the alternatives you provided are still far from perfect and also unrealistic.Arda Guler?Really? You think we can make a more attractive offer than Real or half of Europe?
avatar
Your criticism is somewhat unfounded imo because your letting perfect be the enemy of good. We've amassed the same number of points at this stage of the season as we had during the scudetto winning season.
avatar
Exactly Like, what if we didn't spend money on Chuk to get a DM instead? We would've had serious depth problems because Pulisic would be drained physically, so people would've complained about the transfers anyway. We have the chance to fully complete the team next season without selling anyone simply because this season's market was actually good, unlike last season
avatar
Well, if it's a matter of ideology like if Acerbi goes around on a racist media tour/exposé on this issue, then of course, but that's entirely different matter than what we have, which is a single use of a slur during the game. The way to move forward and come back to training with Thuram and Bisseck and so on is probably to apologize to them as well as publicly, and clarify that this is not something about his ideology. Of course it can be done right or wrong, there are unknowns, and it depends on who Acerbi is and how he handles the situation. The need for a punishment doesn't mean that he becomes irredeemable.
avatar
I agree

That's exactly what the commentator said on TV. 😁
