Oh but "La Masia is not what it was", lads, La Masia is not what it was just because our Board and Managers haven't given a single chance reflected in terms of consistency to our youngsters. The talent is and has always been there.

I'm in shock after a few days of reading the comments in here. Whoever has compared this technically-gifted phenomenon playstyle-wise to the kind of player Emerson is, either has zero capacity of subjective football analysis or hasn't watched a minute of any of both players and is just relying on comments on social networks or media titles who have talked a lot about Emerson. Don't get me wrong, Emerson has to be talked a lot, he has had a great season so far in Betis and media always talks about loanees from big clubs who are having this good of a season, for example, Odegaard. Making the audience interested in what will the players future depart knowing that he is owned by a big club who probably also has great players at his position, sells comments, likes, views, etc. As I said, this was earned, Emerson has done wonders and has fit a system perfectly. Now, moving on to the player-to-player analysis, what is even up for discussion here? I don't know if anyone got the memo but Barcelona has been used to turn players that are naturally born for the Wing position, because of their talent, into full-backs. Call it Alba, call it Alves, call it Belletti, call it Sylvinho, we even moved Giuly to the back at some point, just to mention a few examples. Knowing all of this, we have to try to understand that our Full-backs generally play in a position in the pitch where they have to exploit space by pulling 1v1 moves, especially our Right-back, because that Wing gets often left alone with Messi's movements. We have witnessed this for years with Alves, for example, but now every Right-back that we find fit (talent-wise) for the spot, always struggles to make a great impression because of this simple tactical situation that we are seeing where the Right-back alone has to do something to break a 2-player pressure while Messi is now in a Centered-position in the midfield, this often ends in Semedo or Roberto losing balls or looking incapable of producing something offensively, eventually making them look bad, just because of a natural tactical situation. You can not sit here and tell me Emerson, without down taking the great potential he has as a player, won't struggle just as everyone has in this specific situations, because he does not have the soul of a natural winger who is accustomed to: 1. Exploit the defender to create my own space 2. If that is impossible, continue the ball movement. While Emerson is a spark-plug like player, he will try mostly to find the open space to create his own off-ball runs and wait for the team to find him, just like Semedo or Roberto do, but he will not go out there and try to take on the defenders him alone, he does not have the individual on-ball talent to do so, whereas Alves did it on a constant basis, and I have seen this kid, Dest, try to do it too. Now to see him try it every match, as a youngster, without exploiting his full tactical potential, Dest just feels much more naturally fitted for what we have been historically interested in as a Right-Back this last 20 years, again, It's not a comparison to downgrade a player or another, it's just a fact based on the player raw ability and the context of us, as a team, we have no idea how the future will be for both, these are humans whose professional footballing careers are literally just starting. And lastly, Dest is so raw that it will probably take months to years to get him into a position where he feels comfortable defensively and tactically, he needs a lot of work, but this does not take a single thing of his natural ability. Also, I'd like to add Bayern have just literally done, the mentioned at first, this season with Davies, wouldn't surprise me that they would target a player like Dest for the other Full-back position too after finding the Davies experiment successful.

Thank you Leipzig for this great player, 77/86

Remember when he was in Barca youth and everyone knew he was a beast, then he came to England and everyone said he was shit, now he's a beast again... People really don't have patience with young footballers.

World class pace, jumping. Great dribbling, finishing, positioning. Good vision, crossing. //serving.photos.photobox.com/6313232452cb29236a8253d2fb484c0f570595083177f4e9e4433c316e15fa2366a1231c.jpg

Too good for West Ham. Wish him the best tho.

I hope he has a great debut. I would hate to see him fail

Newcastle doing to Joelinton what Scotland do to McBurnie and isolating the fuck out of him

We play the worst football in the league by some distance, and the only reason people think Bruce is doing a good job is because the expectations were so low. Thing is I don’t buy into the belief we have to play this way; we have some good players

He is already world class and one of the best in the Bundesliga.I would love if we got him but he needs first team football and we can't offer that unless we sell one of our front three which i don't think is a good idea.

Perfect Overall and potential imo.

Is this another legend?

More like Lingard is just an Aussie Minamino.
avatar
Decent depth at Pool for the attack now finally, second line of Minamino, Shaqiri, and Origi would've been equal or better to the staring attack Klopp had at Liverpool with when he arrived.
avatar
it was a tough game for him especially everton are fielded with regulars while he was fielded with youngsters. if we can give sometime to lingard, surely we can do the same to minamino right?
avatar
No worries bro and there's not enough old school users like you around anymore

Bowen would be great because he has right profile of what we are looking for. He has been playing in the middle of the park which is good for us because that's where he would play. Joe Rodon would be a good replacement for Basham when Basham moves on in 2 years time or so. Rodon is ideal for our overlapping system as he is big, strong, quick and comfortable on the ball. Other players we have been linked with are Loren from Betis, Holgate from Everton, Sander Berge, Christian Kouame, Ollie Watkins and Henderson permanently

Veio da D, mas é bom lembrar que o Ituano tem mais estrutura que vários da B, sem falar no baita investimento na base. Não foi campeão paulista à toa, né. Logo vai se consolidar entre os 40 maiores do país.
avatar
Nah. He is more like Maldini. Always poaching the opposition box, defensively a lot more to ask for
avatar
He came from the Brazilian 4th tier

Messi is the next Martinelli

Just got into contact with the FIFA Community Manager. Told him about the Chelsea Editor and gave him the stats that Chelsea players have been dropping (Abraham, Pulisic, Kovacic, etc.). He said he will reach out to the team in charge of that. Hopefully this is finally the end of this disgusting mess.

Doesn't look like a football player, more like the guy who's being charged for raping drunk girls with his rich co students at a Harvard party 10 years after joining politics

He isn't a poacher, that game made him look like a poacher but he isn't. But I agree he needs to improve, especially his behavior, he got 20+ yellow cards and 3 red cards this season. This is unacceptable behavior.
avatar
Filipe Luis was worse imo. The whole Flamengo team was very poor yesterday.
avatar
People say he was shit in Europe. Casemiro was also shit playing in Brazil, look him now at Madrid. He was shit in Brazil because he was young and immature. Age (and good coaches) made him better in Spain. Same history with Gabriel. A good team, a good coach, and age made him evolve as a player.
avatar
81 for him, solid striker
avatar
Please come back to Europe next year. Clearly to good for South America.
avatar
What is the point of having high Jumping and low Heading Accuracy? So he wins most 50/50 headers, but it goes in random directions?
avatar
Who knew, players perform well when played in their original position...
avatar
lol
avatar
Of course that "fans" are blaming him. But they dont see the main problem here. Schick is that good for our national team because they are playling around him. Not only around him of course, but they are making great chances for him and trust him. AS Roma struggles, because they have great individualities that have lot of talent and potential but they cant play as a team or play around Patrik. They just simply dont know how to treat player like him and they should sell him or atleast send him on loan with option to buy him. I know that lot guys out there wont indetify with my opinion but I know what I'm talking about in this situation.

what neymar deserves: to fucking rot in the psg b squad, if there is one what football deserves: neymar to barcelona
