football manager may seem like a very complex game compared to fifa, good thing is that you choose how involved you want to be.(i could literally tell the AI to do 90% of my tasks and me just doing transfers and managing the tactics and the squad). that way it feels like a fifa career mode in which you spectate the matches and can make changes in real time if your team plays badly but yeah, fifa has the "controlling your players" which is a direct impact on your team, whereas in fm you could tell your striker at half time that he plays bad, he reacts by "seeming motivated" and then proceeding to miss 3 open nets in the second half it really depends how much you like directly controlling your players ( i personally prefer fm because players and teams sometimes do random sh*t and i love that xD )
