Cavani will go down as the most underrated PSG player imo. People look at his stats compared to Mbappe, or that in goal contributions to games ratio isn't as good as Neymar and think he wasn't anything special. But he did an incredible job as a striker for PSG. He spent his first 3 years being shifted on the wing to accomodate for Zlatan and still did well. He only had the 16/17 season as PSG's main guy, before Neymar came into the 2017/18 season. Mbappe after the world cup became PSG's main man, and Cavani had to accomodate so those guys could excel. If they couldn't score themselves Cavani would always come in clutch. Cavani has always had an excellent work rate, he was pressing from the front before it was "hip" for strikers to do that in the modern game. This meant that Neymar and Mbappe could slack off in their defensive work-rate, because Cavani would always have them covered and allow them to focus on doing more in the attack. Despite being PSG's number 9 Striker for years he was never their star man, having to accomodate for bigger names and still always delivered.

He was on fire before the WC and fell off for the rest of the season. He’s off to an excellent start this year though.

Last year I thought the people who said Valverde was similar to young Gerrard were crazy, as Valverde wasnt really that good of a long shooter yet. But damn, he has improved a lot since then. Undoubtly one of the best long shooters in the world right now.
