He isn’t a rb
avatar
People who say “he’ll get bullied in the pl”, “can he handle the physicality of the pl”, “he’s too small”, etc make me laugh
avatar
They say every year that gets raided… Ajax is financially stable enough to say no sometimes
avatar
I hope when he leaves they give him a proper farewell, he came when the club was at its worst state and was our most important player before he got injured
avatar
The disrespect allowed on this page for the greatest ever footballer is a bit disgusting
avatar
It feels like hes been around forever

Seeing a lot of VVD & Ramos comparisons on here. So here is my take. Virgil makes defending look effortless. He seems to look as though he's always in control of any situation, hardly ever gets booked, hardly ever needs to go to ground due to his top-tier positioning. He has an aura about him where certain players literally give up when they're 1v1 against him. There was even a period where he couldn't be dribbled past for over 60 consecutive games. He ticks every box you'd want from a centre-back. He's tall, strong, fast, dominant in the air, elegant on the ball, superb in reading the game, an imposing leader etc. He is the complete package. Ramos has all of these qualities too although to a lesser extent. He isn't as imposing as Virgil from a physical perspective however you could argue he's just as good if not better in the air and on the ball. Ramos can be seen as the one with the better offence for sure when you look at his goals over the years. His clutch headers in the UCL, his penalties etc. But unlike Virgil he doesn't make defending look effortless. He can look quite rash and reckless at times and has gained quite the reputation for himself over the years by his antics on the field. Just look at number of times he's been booked or sent off. That is not something that I'd want from my defender or leader. By the time both retire, Ramos will have the greater legacy due to the number of trophies he's amassed with club and country, his goals record, number of international caps, his clutch UCL moments. He's had the better career although from a footballing standpoint I would prefer VVD. His superior reading of the game, composure and sheer dominance sets them apart for me.

For anyone that’s still under the illusion that Virgil van Dijk is anything but one of the greatest to ever do it, at this stage last season Liverpool were 6th with 52 pts, out of all cups. With him back, they’re 2nd with 73 pts, won 1 cup and chasing down a quadruple. Unreal.
avatar
You dont understand what he is saying, vini isn't the first person ever to cross his arms
avatar
91/91
avatar
Been outstanding again for the last 3 months. Nothing and I mean nothing has got past him. 90/90. He's still the best CB in the world.
avatar
Who complained about time wasting are retards, every club does it when needed.
avatar
It's laughable how people forget every good outing of yours if u get a bad game or two, they expect every a young player to be the best player in the pitch in every games he plays, or they can't wait to talk trash abt someone online.

"Enjoy it one day"? It is impossible to enjoy football unless phenomena of underserved wins eventually stops. Chelsea - Barca 2009 Barca - Chelsea 2012 Atletico - Real 2016 final France - Portugal 2016 final Bayern - Real 2017 quarter-final To get my words easier for you (if you are Benfica fans) even Benfica - Sevilla 2014 final was undeserved win for Sevilla considered the job Benfica had done in 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. So, how you Benfica fans felt about 2014 final the same is felt by Ajax supporters and general football supporters (like me).
avatar
Ajax was not Ajax. Positionplay was horrible. Your LB and CB walking around Haller when it’s 1-2 in quarter final UCL… but this is a massive learning match for our youngsters. We have still a big home game to go. Let’s shine again as we did against Dortmund
avatar
Because Ajax is at a higher level then Barca. Nice that he can perform in the Eredivisie, he can go to Groningen
avatar
Virgil van Dijk has only ever lost one league game at Anfield in his entire career. It was when he played for Southampton.
avatar
not your luckiest day is it
avatar
Barcellona is the flop, Depay has been the best in this team.
avatar
Deserved to be this rating at Lyon
avatar
Nah 86 or 87 for his performance last year
avatar
Potential goes down the older you become
avatar
"De Ligt wanting game time" Where do people read this? He's literally our most used CB

If Fekir is 85.........

That's so cringe

- Someone who has never seen Mazraoui play

Overhated. Watch him play, and you'll see his talent.

I have not seen the Ziyech from Ajax at Chelsea since he left i feel like he fits a certain system/ style few clubs play, also the link between Lukaku and Ziyech aint there its not friendly at all. And since he told media he wanted to come back to Ajax eventually why not now!
avatar
Classic Ziyech goal
avatar
why are you from Poland
avatar
not our respect
avatar
Depay is rumored to be on 7mil per season which he further reduced to get registered in August ... I don't think the club could ask him to reduce his per season wage further ...
avatar
MILITAO RUDIGER ALABA RAMOS KOULIBALY TOMORI KJAER KOUNDÈ LMAOO vvd is clear, he’s on par with Thiago Silva, he’s slightly better than Ruben Dias and on almost on par with Marquinhos. Top 5
avatar
so you're trying to say he's overrated because he's too good for eredivisie?
avatar
No he is not. De Ligt was way ahead at an earlier age.
avatar
You can’t describe his playing style correctly. He’s so unique. You need to watch him play
avatar
I don’t understand why people say he’s declining tbh Have you ever watched a Juventus match in the last 2 years? Whenever Bonucci’s playing, he has to cover the whole defense and he’s great in doing it.
avatar
Portuguese for now, but Ajax is clear of all teams
avatar
He didn't declined a bit, he only had the first 2-3 months of adaptation and then 1-2 months bad after the shoulder injury, but he was always a beast, and by far our best defender alongside Chiellini (who is often injured sadly). He plays a lot, and play really good, especially in the big matches. His 85 ovr right is fine, maybe 86 could be better. About his ball playing ability, I'm not sure what you meant, but he is ok with the ball and passing; near Bonucci he is outshined in those particular skills, but it's not defender stuff tbh.
avatar
double Declined
avatar
He is really dumb. Just let him be. Probably a friend of Eugene the dumbf*ck.
avatar
Says a mexican? Bro ur players flop in eredivise and the best ones play for shit ass USA
avatar
You are really trying to tell an Ajax fan what Donny’s position is smh
avatar
agreed, Ajax is an amazing team, great squad depth and a great coach, of course the game was decided by the red card, but what can we do now? they were the best team in the first game and in the second half yesterday too, it wasn’t Ajax fault, neither Antony’s, they did what they had to do to win the game and that is fair imo, hope they reach great things this season as we
avatar
The foul wasn't a red card and the pen wasn't a pen. But imo we shouldn't blame Antony because he didn't make the decision or Michael Oliver because mistakes happen but how could the VAR watch the replay and confirm the red card and overrule the pen. That's what we should be really talking about. However Ajax is still a great team and the game would have been a joy to watch if it wasn't destroyed by obvious mistakes!
avatar
Inevitable win? Dude it was 0-0 at the moment
avatar
Nah bro SoFifa users don’t represent any fan base. You have to realize that most people on here are no older than 15
avatar
And everyone hates Americans

Was fun, goodnight. https://s3a.sofifa.net/60be222d9320e719ea9a67f4540267fa3512ce72.jpg
avatar
Winning 3-1 against a club that everyone said would beat us twice, and qualifying for the knockout stages after playing just 4 games? Yes extremely embarrased.
avatar
Bro he destroyed your team 2 times in a row. At least have some respect for the guy
avatar
'completely outplayed'... Well, I didn't see that. Ajax was not at its best, but it's not like Dortmund completely dominated
avatar
2 games, 7 goals, bye bye.
avatar
It's not his fault that the ref messed up. Anyway, he got 3 assists and destroyed Dortmund once again. He's something special
avatar
Yes Antony dived, but Hummels' charge was stupid. Both yellow and red could be given for this, that's why the VAR couldn't do anything about it.
avatar
Nec nearly bankrupt. They need your analytic skills.
