Keep VAR but make a few changes imho. VAR was brought in because the officials were shite. VAR has been shite because the same shite officials it was brought in to help are the ones in charge of it. Put people with no association to PGMOL in the booth and it improves. No reason a matchday official has to be on VAR. Give it to someone with a proven knowledge of the rules and a computer science degree. It was the technician that first pointed out the error with the Diaz goal, not any of PGMOL's finest who were busy congratulating themselves on their good process.

I know there is a mix of older and younger people on this page, but does anybody here play football? I stopped properly training, and playing regularly about ten months ago to focus on my schoolwork, but I think it’s taken a toll on me. While I realize the importance of taking my schooling serious (especially with what I’m getting into), I feel like I would be even more mentally drained if it wasn’t for my girlfriend, and Liverpool. The reason why I am asking this is because I was wondering if many of you still play at a decent level, even with other responsibilities. I truly miss playing at a competitive level. Last year was my best year of my footy career, and just to give up after that has stuck with me. I’d love to get back into playing at a collegiate or semi-pro level. I’ve gone up to my local pitch recently just to play for a bit of fun, but it does not hit quite the same as when you are pushing to improve, and have ambitions in the sport (probably just my personality, tbh). I also miss the social aspect of football. I loved my team last year, and I met so many of my best friends on that team, as well as having friends on that team that I’ve known since I was around eight years old. You also meet so many people from different backgrounds playing the sport. I’d be interested to hear what everybody has to say, because everybody here has a passion for footy.
