Oh boy, I'll say something very controversial so may god help me. I'm a bit disappointed with Barella this season. Don't get me wrong, he is still a great player (one of the best in his position). However, while literally all Inter players improved significantly this season, he didn't. Martinez improved a lot his finishing. De Vrij is muuuuch better than last season. Hakan is having best season of his life. Pavard rediscovered himself. Even Dumfries is on fire. Dimarco is becoming a beast. But Barella didn't improve on last year's. He actually got a bit worse in finishing and long shots. I feel he is less concentrated. Again he is still doing great, but he is the only Inter player who didn't improve this year. It could be the new tactical demands of his role, as he is given less attacking duties and more pressing duties. but I feel he could do better. Anyways that's my opinion of my favorite player in Inter next to Bastoni. Wishing him all the best.

I just feel I need to express this somewhere: I'm extremely proud of how our beloved Inter has managed to rise up back to the top from the ashes after the treble. It has been a tough, painful and at times embarrasing journey, but in some crazy way we're still alive and stronger than in a long time. For me there is no other club in the world but Internazionale. The most inclusive club with the most beautiful and important meaning and mission, now more than ever with the world being as it is.

People who criticize Inzaghi for the league performance last year seemingly always fail to consider the context of Napoli's season. This year, after week 14, we have 35 points. Last year, at this stage, Napoli had 38. And still we were close behind them at this stage even though we had numerous injuries. Then, in week 16, we met them, got the job done, and gave them their first loss of the season. After that loss, Napoli went on to win the next 8 games in a row. We were simply facing an historically performing team, it was simply their moment, their year. So naturally our team came to prioritize the league less and less, especially after a long a tiring world cup, and a great opportunity in the CL that presented itself. No matter what Inzaghi did, it's just one of those psychological human reactions that cannot be tamed, you can't fight 100% pointlessly. But, when the 4th place started to actually come into question after a series of absurdly unlucky games with Lukaku and others missing countless sitters, we refocused on the league, and got the job done, winning nearly every game in the last 2 months. We were looking like we would beat Napoli in their stadium too, to show the strength and dignity of the team, but unfortunately Gagliardini got a red card before halftime (we still almost won that game with 10 men, btw). And of course, we had an incredible performance in the CL final that deserved a victory. This was on top of the two cups, needless to mention. Inzaghi has done an absolutely incredible job in his time here, exceeded all expectations. He is the best coach in Serie A.

Pavard is probably the last chance we have to save this transfer window and make it a decent one despite all the chaos. We probably don't need him as much as we would need a proper striker, but there aren't any proper strikers available right now. At least, Pavard is actually a first choice for us (he was even at the start of the window), and signing him would pretty much delete any concern we currently have about our defense. If the attack doesn't work well enough in the first half of the season, hopefully we'll be able to do something about it in January.

Depends if "flop" is also related to the expectations. Skriniar went from being our captain and best player to having an ok half season which ended with a red card and then went on to sit out for the second half of the season for reasons still not fully clear (the injury with delayed surgery is just too sus of a coincidence).

Ffs everything is on the line on all fronts for this end of the season, surely the most tense one we had in who knows how long. - Coppa Italia semifinal that would allow us to go into the final as favorites, and of all teams it's against Juve. - Champions League semifinal that would hand us a CL final which would be a victory in and of itself with our current team, plus the slight chance of winning it all. And of all teams it's against Milan. - A very tight run for the CL spots in the league where we'll have lots of big games. This one is looking like the hardest one at the moment imo, the tougher schedule compared to other teams is likely to make the difference, but wins vs the direct contenders would be a huge boost. It could literally turn into a legendary season just like it could be a disastrous one, it's hard to believe how much is at stake here. Let's just cross our fingers and hope for the team to hit form.
