Some people think this is a purple patch but it really isn't, It's not like Rashford's form now is some radical revelation as much as some people like to think. He had 18 goals in mid January 2020 before he damaged his back. He was comfortably on course for a 30 goal season, but he still managed a 20+ goal season that year and the one after, hes only had one bad season which was last year. Van Persie had a similar back injury, and he even came out to say it took him years before he truly recovered. not to mention Ole would overplay Rashford through various ankle injuries, it nearly ruined him, I'm not surprised with how burnout he looked last year. Imagine if Juventus had gotten rid of Del Piero after his injury back in 1998. It took him close to 3 years to fully recover from it. this season has always been within Rashfords trajectory, he just had obstacles to overcome. 86/88 imo

No. Instead, he decided that he will work harder than everybody else to compensate. And look where he is now. Even though he was less talented than Messi, he became on par with Messi through sheer hard work and dedication. Ronaldo wasn’t ever supposed to be at this level. Messi was supposed to be the undisputed king of this era. But would Ronaldo accept that? No. Messi was sent down by the gods of football to rule this era of football, but Ronaldo defied the gods of football all by himself. Over the years, many footballers were said to be more talented than Ronaldo, for example, Nani, Quaresma, Sneijder but none of them could reach the level that Ronaldo did because they didn’t utilize their talents properly. This is why many young footballers idolize Ronaldo. Ronaldo is living proof that even if you are less talented than others, you can still reach the top. You just have to work harder than anybody else. This is not applicable just to football, it is applicable to literally anything.

IMO his finishing is a bit overrated, he has not really been 'excellent' for a few seasons maybe. Probably his 32 PL goal season in 2017/18 was the only time he looked like a fully world class finisher for a whole season. Can't compare this guy's finishing most of the time to guys like Messi, Ronaldo, Kane, Son (before this season) who have had many seasons being very efficient in front of goal. This is definitely Salah's worst season (so far) finishing wise with Liverpool, but IMO he has 93 finishing more because he scored lots of goals in the last few seasons, not because he was a world class finisher during that time. No hate to Salah though, he has been a world class player and world class goal scorer for many years, and halfway through last season we all thought he was maybe the best player in the world.

Up until he joined Torino, the only time that an English player would leave the UK would be if they were old and wanted to go to the MLS. Since he joined Torino, we've been seeing English young players move overseas fairly often. Its almost like he removed some sort of stigma or fear by being an England international that was willing to step outside his comfort zone, the Torino spell didn't go well but its something to think about I'd say.
