CURTINHO2

i hope our scouts are watching Ederson tonight, hes so poor with the ball
avatar
Do you want a btec Mac Allister next to the actual Mac Allister? It doesn't matter how low his price is, we need someone with a different profile.
avatar
Very good points, also i have doubts about thuram's passing ability, his runs with the ball are great but his passing from what ive seen leave a lot to be desired. I genuinely wonder if we can turn gravenberch into that sort of player instead of getting thuram, they are pretty similar after all.
avatar
what has cptn done to this site......
avatar
Is so fun when a top class player comes from an obscure country
avatar
Minteh, Thuram, and a big center half signing would be a perfect window, imo. We would probably make back the money spent on a center half through the sales of van den Berg, Tsimikas, Kelleher, and Carvalho. I’m on my knees for a Colwill/Schlotterbeck.
avatar
Something must be wrong behind the scenes at Nice. Thuram available for less than £20m and Todibo reportedly available for around £21m, their manager has jumped ship and gone to Ajax and nobody wants to renew their contract. Some rumours flowing around that Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are looking at selling the club as well. Perfect conditions for Edwards/Hughes to swoop in and get a bargain or two.
avatar
I think Yankuba Minteh would be an excellent signing. Considering our long-standing interest in the player, and his experience under Slot, I think this is a great opportunity for us to take advantage of Newcastle’s financial situation. Newcastle’s hand is forced, and they will have to sell the player, giving us power in negotiations to agree a reasonable fee/structure for the deal. I’ve seen people complaining about a rumoured £40m asking price, but that’s a very similar fee to the likes of Bakayoko and Nusa. Minteh’s stats are incredibly impressive, as well.

avatar
Technically brilliant, able to shoot from distance, he is a playmaker who tends to utilize the space between the opposition's defense and midfield. Those are all similarities with Coutinho
avatar
Another post on Wharton by Bath = shades of Smitty's obsession with Gasperini 😂
avatar
Advocating for us to throw in a big bid for Colwill or Schlotterbeck. Maybe a cheaper signing like Thuram in the midfield, and possibly a Nusa/Bakyoko on the wing.
avatar
Just listening to Pearce and Jones all summer 👍
avatar
Because we're gonna see a lot of shite this summer i would like to remind everyone that fabrizio romano has no clue about anything liverpool related especially now that edwards is back. Only last summer was he to be trusted since jorg obviously worked very openly and everyone knew what we were doing.
avatar
They've actually done it. They've only gone and won the First Look at the 24/25 PL Table trophy, lads. https://s3a.sofifa.net/428b3e01b399b76580c03fdf43eaeb1423678f5a.jpg

Probably better for us they can come back and take part in full pre season for slot. Both will benefit from it since i wouldn't expect them to play at all for England
avatar
Joël Matip was v good for a free signing, yes he had his injuries, but was key for us when we won the CL playing alongside Virg. Loved those runs into the oppositions box breaking the lines then creating a big chance or scoring. And I'll miss his funny faces. Cheers mate! https://s3a.sofifa.net/2d9525fd37b3bbe2ec06cbf92d11251522ce92a2.png
avatar
Joel wasn't just very good for a free signing he was a part of our success forming a good partnership with VVD and stepping up when required. It's unfortunate about the injury problems

I know you agree mike

It's a particularly low blow from their billionaire owners. As I said above it's not counted as FFP/PSR but the community programmes include everything from assisting local charities, local food banks, local hospital/nursing home visits to engagements with local businesses, schools and other social outlets. There's no justification for cutting that funding and harming communities and literally their own local fans.

Manchester City suing the Premier League because of associated party transaction (APT) rules is wild. Manchester City claiming that they are the victims of a campaign of discrimination is wild. Manchester City claiming that they should be allowed to self regulate their own financial incomings and outgoings is wild. Manchester City essentially starting a civil war within the Premier League against the tyranny of majority rules is wild. But don't forget.... They are totally innocent of all 115 charges and this story conveniently drops on the same day that a 6 week hearing is scheduled at the start of November 2024 into said 115 charges. Normal reaction, no distraction or diversion here, especially from a completely innocent Manchester City.
avatar
Do people not remember what it was like under Edwards? Transfers wouldn’t drop until like a picture of them holding a shirt surfaced. Of course it’s going to be quiet

The day I see Man City dutifully punished will be a glorious day

Mbeumo is deffo this years mount i was telling everyone last year that mount was a bum and we should move for szoboszlai and guess what happened. Listen to me when i talk mbeumo will NOT be a Liverpool player. Some and i repeat only some of his stats are impressive but thats not good enough if you want to play for Liverpool, his dribble statistics are a joke, hes 24 soon 25 and hes got about the same dribble stats as salah this season whos been tragic in that department. His end product is nothing out of this world either he does rack up decent xG per game but this season he too has underperfomed his xG and our main issue this season has been forwards underperfoming their xG, adding yet another who does the same isnt the solution. Olise is the one we should be going for hes genuinely perfect if we want a prem proven player, he outperforms mbeumo in almost every metric and hes younger as well.
avatar
Yeah agreed i was very negative to the idea 1 year ago but honestly i have serious doubts about him especially in slot's system since he likes ball playing cbs. Quansah might get his position and he'll be 2nd choice then.
avatar
Salah in a Swans team? What have you done with Swans.
avatar
My worry about this is that he's seen that some of us are a bit surprised by his lack of emotion and he's seen that. At some point it will hit him, however I think he's still in shock. The loss for both of us is huge. This also may very well be me inhaling violently on copium, I'm aware haha.
avatar
Looks like he’s from RDR2 on the right
avatar
If Klopp were to be asked this he'd answer: "Another defensive midfielder? We have Wataru [Endo] who has been brilliant...absolutely brilliant and settled in so, so quickly. Then it's Stefan [Bajcetic] who was for so long on the sidelines and is hungrier than ever to play and help the team. Tyler [Morton] had a successful spell at Hull and will join the team at the end of his loan. So, now you tell me, where do we need another defensive midfielder? You just want this exclusiveness, but we do things in another way, we cannot go and just say 'Oh, we want this, we want that', it's just not how we do business".
avatar
Lol I read this in Klopp’s voice
avatar
As if yesterday wasnt good enough i wake up to news that chelsea are hiring Maresca of all people hahahahahahha
avatar
Hes a potentially generational talent, he could be the next jude. We need to get him.
avatar
There can’t never be a raising Italian player without Juventus annoyingly trying to sign them.. another shameless club that tries to weaken competition just like Bayern..

Him and diaz will pay for this man

great video explaining Slot's set up and the different roles in his Feyenoord team I'm really curious how/if he will try to implement the same system here. Trent inverting from left back with Bradley as an overlapping right back could be exciting (but also very risky). Big concern would be Endo in the Wieffer role for me, as much as I like him, he really isn't the most press resistant DM. Maybe Gravenberch could be developed into that role? Salah as an inside forward again and Diaz providing the width on the left sounds nice, I'm curious what the plan for Gakpo will be. https://youtu.be/_IyMEUDb6AY?si=9dGTJW0g2V4sjXTG

It's just the provisional squad he probably won't be in the actual team selection but still what a massive achievement for our young lad, Curtis Jones has also received the call up for the provisional squad
avatar
With A certain man back in charge of comings and goings in the club, I don't even want to try guessing who the club will be interested in. Odds are the guess will be a mile off of who it is and that's the way I prefer it over overpaying for some prospects.

Arne Slot running out of energy video in November confirmed.
avatar
He would have been decent i guess but man is 65 i dunno too old for me. Valverde would have been a terrible appointment though.

Completely agree, for me the attack needs major improvements if we want to stay competitive for the next few seasons. Every single one of our attackers except for jota has been underperforming their xG this season and Salah who has been carrying us looks like he's finally starting to drop off. The defence has been tragic too but imo if we implement a proper defensive structure and add a cb we can fix it. Midfield is very promising but we do need a top dm, should be a priority this summer. A lot of potential in this squad and im excited to see what arne can get out of them but we need additions. Hopefully we can overhaul the attack within the next 3-4 windows.
avatar
Really feeling hopeful and optimistic about next season tbh, we've got good foundations to build from and have a good, solid squad that doesn't require any major fixing. Everything behind the scenes looks absolutely phenomenal, the structure FSG are building could be one of the best in Europe. Arne Slot, our new manager, is coming in with fresh ideas and an exciting brand of football and he has essentially been endorsed by Klopp. It's been a sad day today but we've got a bright future ahead of us.
avatar
I'm in my late 20's and I don't know if we'll ever have another manager like Klopp. Of course, he represents all Liverpool supporters, but for anyone around my age, he is truly our guy. Since he's been leading this club I've watched my first major Liverpool trophy, been to my first in-person Liverpool game (preseason in NYC), went to my first Anfield game on new years day this year with my parents (also Liverpool supporters) and my now fiancee, and have had countless other memories with family, friends, and strangers because of what he created at the club. More than anything else, I will miss his guidance, wisdom, character, and integrity. He is a unique individual in the world who is able to help people transcend their circumstances and see what is real and important about this life that we are all blessed to have; love, passion, growth, struggle, failure, stories, experiences, connection. I'm just damn proud to be a Liverpool supporter and thankful to have had this experience with him over the last 9 years.

Klopp’s final post match dressing room speech: “I love you, that’s all I can say,” he told the squad as he stood in the middle of the dressing room. “The football you are able to play is absolutely ridiculous, I can’t wait. Watching you, developing, making the next steps, becoming third. “I don’t even know yet who became champion, City? The only one who’s stopped them is us and you can do that again. “I said it this morning, there might be some people who say ‘that’s not enough’, I tell you they don’t have a clue about football. “Could you have done better in moments? Yes. Of course, that’s always possible. But did you do better than you can usually expect? Oh yes! “Because it takes longer to become a top team again, and you did that (clicks fingers) like this. “That’s why expectations get [blown up], and then we couldn’t keep their pace. That’s the problem a little bit. “But besides that, becoming third in the first season of Liverpool 2.0, and from now on, with new energy from outside, for you, with new influences, with new boosts, with new [chances for] proving yourself, that’s good for squeezing everything out of your career. “So it’s already too much. “I want to say I love you, it was absolutely outstanding. Thank you for the ride, I’m so proud of you and I’m so proud that I have been allowed to be part of this. “Thank you very much, the sky is the limit for you boys. Thank you.” How can you not love this man! He deserved 3 PL titles and another CL but competing against an oil state club who have cheated and Real Madrid who seem to have officials their side every year is a near impossible task to achieve. But he got us back to the top and is leaving behind a great crop of boys for Slot.
avatar
I'm getting married in August. I met my soon to be wife in May 2015 and Jurgen joined Liverpool in October 2015. My life has changed massively for the better in those 9 years. He will always be a legend of this club and in our memories! Danke Jurgen
avatar
It was an emotional day, I love that even in his last moments Klopp still cares about the club, the fans but also our new manager Arne Slott trying to get the fans on board with him getting him the best possible start.
avatar
That was a lot. 😅 Jurgen is such a special person. Just speaks volumes about him when he encouraged the supporters to believe in Arne Slot.
