I see many saying that it is unfair for Vini to win the Ballon d'Or, as he is not at the level of Suárez, Neymar and others who did not win the award. And he really isn't.
The point is that today competitiveness is lower and lower. If Suárez and Neymar were currently at their peak they would inevitably win.
A also valid example is that if Ronaldinho (1x Ballon d'Or winner), Zidane (1x Ballon d'Or winner) and R9 (2x Ballon d'Or winner) would probably not win during the peak period of Messi and Ronaldo (2008-2018) or they would win at most once.

Not sure what your definition of a golden era is, but in my eyes it’s been over for a while now. Brazil have some great talent coming through though, I wouldn’t be suprised if they win the World Cup in 30’.

If he keeps up the good work he might displace Westwood from the England national team as the team's orchestrator. However I feel like if he pursues his talents in an attacking position he could get over Ashley Barnes with a lil bit of luck.
