Notes:
LM - K. Paredes - Very versatile on the left side of the pitch, with the backs playing more forward he can play with Mora and maybe even come back and play that LWB position.
CAM - E. Flores - This one I would like to see, Eddy, likes to play balls out wide or go and exploit those positions. He is not the tallest player so he wouldn't be the best ST that we know and love but rather would play in a more CF/playmaker area. Again, this is a different move to make but I could see it happening and it possibly is beneficial to the squad.
RM - P. Arriola - The GOAT, he had missed all but 20 minutes of MLS action last season, and hope he starts strong. The attacking football Losada plays could be right up the ally of Paul. He and Paredes could move more central a bit to become more of ST's but mostly stay a bit wide.
CDM - F. Martins - Oh me, oh my. Felipe and this midfield have been tough to make any decisions and had to get serious to find the midfield core. Felipe would fit very well with Losada, the midfielders tend to line up all next to each other, and Felipe can possibly come back to help be an anchor on defense in the midfield.
CDM - R. Canouse - Russel has been one of my favorite and best players on DC, he is so well rounded and can play almost anywhere in the defensive and midfield areas. Losada, when he is attacking or has the ball in the midfield tends to want his players to have a 3 in the back and 2 anchors to protect, a playmaker, and the strikers. Canouse, when we have the ball, can drop back to almost become the 3rd CB, which at the tail end and mid part of last season knows familiarly.
CM - M. Nyeman - The wonderkid. Moses had a wonderful 2020 season and we hope he continues to have an even better one in 2021. Nyeman can play all throughout the midfield, with his pace, passing, and dribbling abilities, DC could use that in the midfield (which Losada struggled within Belgium). Losada LOVES to give young players a chance and I think he will do so in 2021 with our homegrown talents.
LB - J. Mora - Ok, now on the fullback, wingback, midback, whatever you want to call it. Mora has been very good defensively but he is very good on the attack, sending in crosses and playing vital balls into the final third. With the fullback system, I think we should play, Mora would fit very well into that.
CB - S. Birnbaum - Birnbaum has started the season out (ankle injury), I believe he will be out for the first couple of games, but maybe not. Birnbaum has been a standout for DC for many many years, being one of the best CB's in the league and being a perfect reliable player to lead the defense. The centerbacks are really just centerbacks I would say under Losada so don't expect him to come up all the time and do something big. On set-pieces however. He and D. Pines (not listed) would be very good looking at who we have to deliver those balls in the box.
CB - F. Brillant - He is in the last years of his career so I think it is best to give him playing time and play one of his final seasons. He has been amazing for DC and hope he stays for a little while longer before we have to part ways with him.
RM - J. Gressel - 400 pound Julian Gressel. My man. He would be great for the RWB spot, playing it at the tail end of 2020. Gressel has the attacking mindset to go forward (like Losada likes) and has decent defending abilities. If however, he does get beat, Brillant can go to the winger and Canouse can fill in his spot. I want to see Gressel at RWB for the attacking play as well, he can deliver amazing crosses into the box and is an all-around very technical player.
GK - B. Hamid - I wouldn't venture to say Hamid has had a bad 2020 but I would say he has had a meh, mediocre, normal 2020. Hamid is an MLS veteran and a homegrown. I expect him to have a lot of playing time. As for Kempin or Seitzee boy, I don't think they will ever really play this season, only if Bill gets injured or one team is really easy and we can afford to rotate the squad.
