Last season Fradi won their 11th consecutive league title, breaking the title record of MTK Budapest. They also brought home the UEFA Super Cup thanks to a 4-0 victory over Man City.
This season, full focus is on making more progress in the champions league as Fradi have reached the semi-finals on three occasions only to narrowly get knocked out each time. Shrewd transfers have been made in the market with multiple high value players joining on pre-contracts. Even with the departure of Salihović it’s clear to see the squad is only getting better and better; surely the Champions league final will be reached this season!
Transfers in (Summer 2029)
Piotr Zieliński - SSC Napoli -> €0 (Zachariassen will be a tough player to replace but surely the Polish veteran can be up to the task)
Joel Mvuka - FK Bodø/Glimt -> €0 (The top winger in the Eliteserien joins on a free transfer to replace Salihović)
Sebastian Nanasi - Malmö FF -> €0 (Despite earning two senior caps for Sweden, the winger now plays for Hungary and will light up the left flank)
András Schäfer - Union Berlin -> €10.2m (With Skhiri’s injury last season affecting his performance, we needed a solid starter for the LCM position)
Filip Ivanov - Fenerbahce -> €5.4m (Our new backup lb to replace the retired Pászka)
Dmitriy Kovalenko - Farul Constanta -> €3.05m (The Ukrainian talent joins from Liga I to replace Zouhir)
Transfers out (Summer 2029)
Myrto Uzuni - -> RB Salzburg €0 (Threatened with losing his starting role, the Albanian joins league rivals Salzburg for his final competitive season…)
Anel Salihović - -> Olympique de Marseille €61.9m (The Bosnian revelation of last season makes the move to Marseille for a hefty price!)
Pilip Kovalenko - -> Nottingham Forest €2.85m (After a successful loan spell, Kovalenko heads to the premier league)
Rida Zouhir - -> LAFC €3m (Zouhir returns to the MLS with the Los Angeles outfit)
Players loaned out:
Janez Oman - -> Istanbul Basaksehir
Fatbardh Brahimi - -> Union SG
Jak Brahimi - -> FC Arouca
Agim Hamza - -> US Salernitana
Marijus Jankauskienė - -> Philadelphia Union
Players retiring end of season:
Willi Orban
