Tactics:

Verbruggen had a great time against Germany in the recent friendlies, Flekken is an amazing keeper. I think Verbruggen should be brought in to build on the future of the national team. Longetivity with keepers has been as big thing for the Dutch national team.

Maatsen and Frimpong lack the defensive strenghts in their play currently and need to operate in a 5 man where they can stay wide or invert into the centre whenever the opportunity arises. We saw their lack in defense against Atletico UCL first leg and Frimpong's 4 man trial appearance in the Netherlands friendlies. People aren't going to like my opinion on Blind as he is wildley seen as a slow player. Though his passing is amazing. I would actually have him in a 5 man defence. His play doesn't suit the challenge of pacey wingers these days though he can slack a little defensively and stay wide on the flank to let summerville invert into the box more easily. He can enable long ball play. Definitely a sub to have when the opponent stays compact like many teams do these days.

Ake, Van Dijk and Geertruida. Many might be upset not to see De Ligt here. But I believe Ake and Geertruida to have the capabilities to flex to the defensive wing sides whenever Schouten drops back. De Ligt is a great addition but his play style works better in a 4 man defense where he can bully in 1 on 1 duels.

Frenkie and Schouten stay compact and close to relieve pressure in the centre. Van Dijk kan make appearances in the CDM area to actively participate as a build up player or accomodate with a long ball. Also Schouten can drop back and create a 4 man defence whenever there is a switch-over.

Summerville and Malen make for speed on the flanks where they will often invert to space in the centre and create with the striker. They will be the key components of a great pass forward in the switch-over.

I would personally like to see an alternative with Xavi in the striker position where he has free movements. A little like Bellingham in real madrid. He can make runs or create space for Summerville and Malen to essentially operate in a 1-2 combination. Xavi Simons can drop back and ask for the ball in the CAM area and create from the centre and have Maatsen, Frimpong as options wide where they can create and make a creative run to the box themselves or pass and enable Summerville and Malen.
